UNLV’s Desert Challenge 2008

For 2008, UNLV’s Desert Challenge will be held at the Alexis Park Suite Hotel from April 18-19.
This location is different than UNLV gym from previous years. Fortunately this new location is right at the entrance to UNLV; right across from the Hard Rock Hotel.
The entry form and information is now available: UNLV 2008 Desert Challenge Packet. This is an all amateur competition.
The deadline for entry is April 4th, 2008.
The entry fee is $30 per student participant.
Will Latin Win The Finals?

The Latin Championship episode was the best of all the ballroom championships in America’s Ballroom Challenge. From top to bottom, exhibition to exhibition, feathers to robots everything was good and plenty.
Vaidotas Skimelis and Jurga Pupelyte pulled off an unexpected crowd pleaser with their retro samba. Coming from Lithuania, the couple could have fooled anyone that they lived the body suit days of 1970s era of Latin dance competitions. Their samba had so much goofy gimmicks from the bygone era that even the MC John DePalma couldn’t help but laugh.
Will the Latin finalist become the all competition champions? Tune in on Wednesday night on PBS.
America’s Ballroom Challenge Tonight - Latin

PBS will be broadcasting it’s America’s Ballroom Challenge tonight in it’s multi-part series building up to the final round.
Tonight, it’s the International Latin dancer’s turn to burn up the floor with their Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive. These are some of the best ballroom dancers Americans will ever get to see on US soil.
The Finalist are:

- Ilya Ifraimov and Nadia Goulina (New Jersey)
- Andrei Gavriline and Elena Kryuchkova (New Jersey)
- Andre and Natalie Paramonov (Canada)
- Vaidotas Skimelis and Jurga Pupelyte (California)
- Delyan Terziev and Boriana Deltcheva (New York)
